Meet the ABS Team
Jason Johnson
President
Jason graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelors in Business Management, and founded ABS in Oct. 2008 to meet the demands for knowledgeable service and support of blasting professionals across the Midwest. Jason is a man of many talents – he not only leads ABS, but swears that he can pack his family’s 87 bags into their vehicle for a family vacation. While not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, the great outdoors and would love nothing more than to take time to enjoy the fall season hunting and fishing.
Shannon Martinson
Vice President
Shannon comes to ABS all the way from Great Falls, Montana. He attended Montana State University, then obtained his Communications Degree from Concordia University in St. Paul. While not working at ABS, Shannon loves to be outside hunting, fishing, camping or doing shooting sports. His strange talent is being able to drive 10+ hours without stopping (we wish we could do that!), and if he could learn anything, he would learn how to fly.
Julie Klasen
Office Manager
Julie makes her way to ABS from Albany, MN and handles all the day-to-day operations as Office Manager keeping everything flowing smoothly. Outside of the office, Julie stays active with her family, watching the kids’ football games, baseball games and karate class, enjoys weekend trips camping or ice fishing and sometimes likes to just stay home to sew and craft.
Mark Lowe
Warehouse Manager/Customer Service
Mark makes the trek to ABS from Little Falls, MN. He attended Alexandria Tech College to obtain his degree in Mechanical Drafting & Design. Mark started with ABS in July of 2013. When Mark isn’t managing the warehouse work, he shows off his mad fish filleting skills at his cabin, and hopes to one day restore an old farm house.
Chad Sylvester
Sales Representative
Chad is a local lad, hailing from the St. Cloud area. After attending St. Cloud Tech, he made the transition to St. Cloud State University where he obtained his degree in Wildlife Biology. Outside of work, Chad fights fires of two different kinds – serving as Lieutenant for the Clearwater Fire Department and keeping up with a busy and passionate family. When not at work or attending a baseball game or hockey practice, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and if he only had to do one thing for a year, it would be to build a cabin in northern MN.
Bill Hirschi
Marketing/Logistics Manager
Bill grew up in the Coon Rapids, MN Area and graduated from St Cloud State University. When Bill's not working he enjoys fishing up north, adult softball and hockey leagues. He spends time playing golf and can drive a golf ball 300 yards, and straight! He loves the sport and has always appreciated the architecture surrounding it. If Bill could learn anything it would be to fly an airplane and design and build a golf course.
