Frequently Asked Questions?

How many times can this media be recycled? (click for answer)

Baking soda is a single-use media — it fractures on impact and dissolves in water, making it non-recyclable.

Can I use baking soda media in my regular blast pot ? (click for answer)

Short answer - NO. You can run baking soda through a standard blast pot but it is extremely difficult, hard on your equipment, and not recommended. Therefore, it is important to have a blast pot setup with controls that allow the operator to have finite control of differential pressure for media to flow precisely.

How much does it cost? (click for answer)

About $0.70 per pound. $1400 per ton / $35 per bag. Sold in 50 lb bags (2000 lb pallets for full skid).

Usage & Typical Applications

Baking soda is commonly used for paint stripping, fire and smoke damage restoration, mold remediation, food-grade equipment cleaning, graffiti removal, and delicate substrate cleaning such as aluminum, wood, fiberglass, rubber, and composites.

How to Choose the Right Grit Size?

Baking soda only comes in one size and it is extremely fine and powdery.
