Frequently Asked Questions?
How many times can this media be recycled? (click for answer)
Typically 0-2 times depending on blast pressure, recovery system, and contamination.
What is most common application for walnut shell? (click for answer)
Walnut shell is commonly used for paint stripping, carbon and soot removal, mold cleaning, deflashing, and cleaning of delicate parts such as aluminum, brass, composites, rubber, and electronic components. People use it on log homes, but this is not recommended or practical because it peens the wood instead of cutting, is more expensive than glass, and is organic so it will rot if any is left in the logs or in between the logs and the paint.
How much does it cost? (click for answer)
About $0.50 per pound. $1,000 per ton / $25 per bag. Sold in 50 lb bags (2000 lb pallets for full skid.)
